Anna Wysocka-Bar is an Academic Coordinator of an EU co-funded Jean Monnet Module on European Private International Law (EPIL@JU). She is a senior lecturer at Private International Law Department of the Law Faculty at Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Poland). She has studied law at Jagiellonian University (Master – 2005, Doctorate - 2013), Université Montpellier I in France (within Erasmus +) and Ottawa University in Canada (LLM - 2008). In 2006 she has attended the prestigious Summer School organized by the Hague Academy of International Law (the Netherlands).

She has carried her research in private international law at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg (Germany – 2011, 2014, 2020), Swiss Institute of Comparative Law in Lausanne (Switzerland - 2009), Peace Palace Library (the Netherlands – 2018, 2019), Institute for comparative law, conflict of laws and international business law at Heidelberg University (Germany - 2019) and Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands - 2020).

Anna has published on private international law, especially international succession law, including a monograph on party autonomy (Wybór prawa w międzynarodowym prawie spadkowym, LexisNexis: Warszawa 2013).

Anna is an ordinary member of the newly established European Association of Private International Law (EAPIL) and one of editors of the EAPIL blog. 

She has given guest lectures on judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters in the EU at Università degli Studi di Milano (2018) and Università degli Studi di Ferrara in Italy (2018), Minzu University of China in Beijing (2018), University of Istanbul in Turkey (2019) and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Milano in Italy (2019). She was invited by Università degli Studi di Parma (Italy) as a visiting professor in 2021. Since 2017 she has been teaching an intensive course on private international law in the EU at the Radboud Summer School in Nijmegen (the Netherlands).

Anna is a licensed attorney at law and a licensed tax advisor with years of experience in tax and legal consulting.
